Clifton Sanitation District Achieves Gold Member Recognition
The Colorado Green Business Network (CGBN) is a free and voluntary program that encourages, supports, and rewards organizations that push toward true operational sustainability.
The goal of the CGBN is to support organizations of all sectors and sizes throughout the state to increase energy, water, and fuel efficiency, reduce waste, and implement sector-specific sustainability best practices within business operations.
The CGBN recognizes Colorado organizations with gold, silver, and bronze designations for voluntarily going beyond compliance with federal regulations and for their commitment to continual environmental improvement.
This year's program recognized Clifton Sanitation District as a Gold Leader, the highest recognition level awarded by the State. To receive Gold recognition, organizations must develop and implement programs and procedures that result in measurable environmental benefits. In addition to the District's solar and battery storage project that is nearing completion, numerous projects have been completed that result in energy savings while improving process efficiency though upgraded treatment plant equipment being installed when original equipment fails or reaches the end of its useful life cycle.
